Josh and I have often talked about how we want to start traditions now that will continue on when we have kids. So this November, we started a tradition leading up to Thanksgiving.
The Thankful Branch
I'm sure you've seen plenty of Thankful Trees floating around the web, but we don't really have a place for a thankful tree, but we do have a place for a thankful branch.
Each day in November, we take turns writing down something we're thankful for on one of the leaves I cut out and we stick it to the branch.
This project was absolutely free as I just went outside and cut down a branch, used some on-hand scrapbook paper to cut out leaves, and some on-hand ribbon to hang it.
By the end of November the branch will be filled up with leaves and we'll have taken a moment to pause each day to think about all we have to be thankful for.
Speaking of Thanksgiving traditions, I recently pinned this idea and I think it's a great one if you are the one who normally hosts Thanksgiving.
You have each person at dinner submit something they are thankful for and then roll them into the dinner rolls. Then, when you're eating have each person read aloud and guess who it belongs to.
So, what are your thanksgiving traditions?
