revolutionary

Imagine that when you're getting married you're able to register for truly unique and one of a kind items for your home. Well, that now exists.
On etsy you can now create a wedding registry! How awesome is that?

There are so many beautiful and unique items to be found. So I decided to daydream about what I would put on my etsy wedding registry if I could.

Being able to register for a custom calligraphy stamp of your new address?!
Wedding registries revolutionized.

a coincidence & a realization

One thing I always love to pick up at yard sales are old books. I love the linen-y texture of the covers and the way they look stacked together. I think it's the simplest and most classic way to decorate.

I picked up these two little guys for a quarter a piece, sheerly because of their pretty covers and spines.

I didn't even bother to open them up until a few days later when I was finding a place for them.

What I found when I opened these books was that they were actually way older than I anticipated

and that the books belonged to a man named Grady who lived in 1894.

I smiled at this coincidence as Grady is the name we picked out for our little boy on the way.
When Josh and I were discussing names before we knew our baby was a boy, I would often suggest names and Josh would reply with, "That's an old person's name."
Well, I like old people names.
But in the argument of names, I never won.
Josh was actually the one who suggested the name Grady when we were just two dating love birds dreaming of our nonexistent children. And it's always kind of stuck with us.
I think he liked it because of baseball player, Grady Sizemore. But I'm realizing that I may have actually won the argument for an old person name.

My conversation with an older gentleman yesterday:
Him: "You know what you got in there?"
Me: "Yeah, it's a little boy."
Him: "A boy. That's great. You got a name picked out?"
Me: "Yeah, his name is gonna be Grady."
Him: "Grady? Every Grady I know is an old man."
Me: *Polite laugh*
And scene.

ana & her parents

I snapped some pictures of my favorite little girl and her parents this weekend and I wanted to share the wealth of cuteness.

You would think we had an hour for photos and went to a pretty field of flowers, but the reality is we had about 15 minutes of happiness from teething Ana in an unmowed backyard.

p.s. Like Ana's dress? Her mom sells adorable dresses and skirts out of her etsy shop!

reflecting

As I was filling in my calendar for the month of May, I realized that this month Josh and I will celebrate 4 years of marriage. Which, in turn, reminded me that I needed to fill in our anniversary book for the past year. For each year in the book, I print out a piece of paper with the year's highlights/important events on it and put corresponding photos.

It's always fun to look back over the past year of marriage and reflect on what the year has held for us - here's what I put for highlights for this year (so far! who knows what this month will hold!):

May 24, 2011- May 24, 2012

Anniversary trip to Florida (May 28-June 4)

Aaron (my brother-in-law) comes home from Iraq

Begin our pregnancy journey - a miscarriage (August 20)

Open Honeysuckle Finds etsy shop (September 9)

Ana Haley is born (September 22)

We're pregnant!! (November 11 - the day we found out)

Trip to California - Kiara's funeral

Finding out it's a boy - gender reveal party!! (March 1)

Mark (my brother) and Kenleigh get engaged (March 4)

Trip to Dallas to visit the Bowman's (March 8-12)

Michael (my other brother) and Shannon get engaged (March 30)

Kellen Goodman (my niece) is born (April 19)

I will say, this is one reason that I love to blog. It makes it easy to look back over the past year and see what the year was made of. Also, as much as I hate to say it, so does Facebook timeline.
